She's the orphan Danielle and, as played by Drew Barrymore, there is a refreshing robustness rounding out the heroine's alabaster beauty. Only this 16th-century sister quotes freely from Sir Thomas More's "Utopia," can lift the prince straight off the ground and, when it comes to defending herself, has a mean left hook. There is no magical gourd and no stroke of midnight, but there is a handsome prince, an evil stepmother and, naturally, a pretty girl down on her luck. Sumptuous, satisfying and sweetly subversive, "Ever After: A Cinderella Story" is more "Masterpiece Theatre" than "Faerie Tale Theater."
